Due to the size of our dormitory, we have had floor representatives and their deputies for some time, who are each responsible for their own floor. The only requirements for a floor spokesperson are a little commitment and the willingness to get to know your fellow residents. As a floor spokesperson, you are the contact person for everything that concerns your floor
Tasks of a floorspeaker
- Welcoming new residents and introducing them to the floor.
- Introducing new people to the KaWo, this includes helping with:
- Internet facility
- Registration of the house association
- Joining the Telegram group
- Getting to know the neighbourhood (e.g. shopping facilities)
- You are the contact person for the caretaker if there is any information concerning your hallway.
The following activities are voluntary, but desired:
- Planning joint activities with your fellow residents
- Participating in general meetings and possibly senate meetings
Rights of the floor spokesperson
- You are the first person to decide who can sublet on your floor. If a roommate wants to rent out their room to someone else for a certain period of time, they need the signature of a floor representative to be allowed to do so.
- The floors are given the opportunity to receive money for activities on the floor. You could spend these 30€ per semester for a common meal or other floor activities. (For more information, please use the contact form to write to us.)
Elections
At the latest every second semester, or after a floor representative resigns, new elections must be held on the floor. How your floorspeaker is elected is up to you as long as there is consensus. As soon as a new representative has been appointed, write a message with your floor, the name of the floorspeaker, and the deputy via the contact form to the allocation comittee.
