Who are we and what do we do?
We are students who live in KaWo 1 and support the Studierendenwerk Aachen in re-occupying free rooms in the dormitory, all the wile representing the interests of the current residents.
Together with the residents, we try to create a harmonious climate in the hallways and the dorm as a whole.
If you would like to move into KaWo 1, register at the applicant portal of the Studierendenwerk Aachen and fill out the application as completely as possible.
We will contact you as soon as you are considered for a free room.
Frequently asked questions
What does “Single Room” mean?pdg98It means that our dorm consists out of floor with 15 people. Five people share one kitchen, bath and shower.
What does the waitinglist number mean?pdg98The waitinglist number is a rough indicator about how many people applied before you. The lower this number is, the higher are your chances to be seen by us and in consequence to may be offered a room. Since the suitabilitie for each room varies with external factors, your waitingtime can be between two months or two years.
What is in the rooms?pdg98
The rooms are aprox. 12 m² big, depending on the position on the floor. They include a sink, a desk, a cabinet and a wardrobe. You will need to bring your own bed, curtains and chair.
How can I get a room?pdg98
You will need to apply in the applicant portal of the STW Aachen for a room in our dorm. You can find it here. The waiting time varies with a lot of factors.
The waiting list position tells you how many people before you have applied for a room in a category. However, this number is only of limited significance because not every person is suitable for every kitchen or hallway. Depending on various factors, the waiting period can therefore be between two months and two years.
We are there for you every Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the BA room of KaWo 1 (house 2; upper basement). There we can discuss all matters personally. !From November 9th, the office hours will be moved to Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.! Therefore there will be no office hour on Monday, November 7th.
